Biography

Neil has been a partner at VanderWoude & Roma, PLLC, since its inception in 2017, where he helps clients navigate matrimonial and employment matters with a practical, solutions-focused approach.  Before becoming an attorney, Neil built a career in design-build contracting and environmental consulting—experience that still shapes how he evaluates strategy, risk, and outcomes for clients.

Neil’s work is especially rooted in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, and he is known for fostering cordial, cooperative settlements while keeping client well-being at the center of the process.  What sets Neil apart from other divorce attorneys is his strong command of tax related issues, which often goes overlooked.

Aside from his work on matrimonial matters, Neil represents clients in matters related to employment, construction litigation, land use and zoning issues, wills and end-of-life documents, and real estate transactions.

When not fighting for his clients, Neil can be found hiking the Appalachian Trail or on the tennis court.
